You should always keep your town hall in the middle because the town hall also contains some loots. So in this base, I have kept town hall 7 in the middle of the base layout.
3. TH7 Dark Elixir Farming Base Link

In gowipe attack strategy people usually take 2 golems, 6-8 wizards, and 3 pekka. So we have designed a base in such a way that funneling into to middle of the base will be tougher.

For protecting dark elixir I have kept the storage in the middle of the base and all the builder is protecting dark storage.
Use multis and keep them in a compartment at least five by 5 in size. Surround multis with defenses in such a way that the hogs go around the multis. Space splash out and use double giant bomb next to wizard towers.
Your best bet is the defensive dragon. Or use the same tip for the multis except for wizard towers. Use double giant bombs for sure.

Upgrade heroes constantly? My heroes’ levels only went up by 3 in a month. Maybe I use it too much.
This is precisely how you either end up with overflowing gold/elixir and three idle builders (wasting resources and time) or your heroes being weak for your TH (your offensive strength is poor compared to others at the same TH). Neither option is ideal in any way.
Golems (2) bowlers (10) witches (10) 2 heals 2 rages one jump one poison; wall wrecker (1 from Cc) 5 bowlers&1 giant/a golem &1giant (Cc) freeze (Cc); for the stuff you train yourself to have it maxed for th10 and for the things you get donated to you maxed out a donation for th13 (accurate max level) don’t upgrade heroes no matter what or how much dark you may have it’s not worth 49% a base for an extra king level.
All the above bases are specialized for a specific attack strategy. You have to choose a base depending upon your builder’s level if you have max air defense you should choose anti bowler base for your clan war.
Similarly, if you have fully maxed bases then you should have anti-ground bases.
